News: - Spring 2007 Dwdws.com has developed considerably. As well as the original business search, we have also added other web search facilities as so to aide the whole process of researching and obtaining information about Wales based businesses and the Welsh language. These new facilities are: - Fetch Dwdws - Which allows the web user to search using similar alternatives from the original keyword/s used. To view Fetch, please click here Learn Welsh - Featuring all of the basics one would need to learn the basics of the Welsh language Improved business search - Featuring a "Did you Mean" spelling alternatives to misspelling words made during the searching process. Web search results combined with the business search. A "What and Where" search option, which allows the web user to specify where in Wales they wish to search. The business search results have also been improved, which makes it easier to scroll through the results; furthermore, there is now a "Quick View" facility, whereby the web user can choose to view the web site without actually clicking through. Allowing the web user to tell us what they think about Dwdws.com, where all opinions and feedback are actively encouraged. The new submission pages now request further information from the submitter: - Their email address, and if whether they provide a bilingual service. This last point will us to provide a search facility, whereby the web user will be able to search for a business based on whether they provide a service bilingually, English, or in Welsh. All submissions are translated by Dwdws.com All English language submission will now be automatically translated by Dwdws.com. The important point to remember here is that a web site need not contain any Welsh language, but they can still submit their details and communicate through the medium of Welsh. Furthermore, the Welsh search results will indicates the language of the target web site. The benefit of this is that the web user can make an informed decision based on their preferences, and the web site/business in question can indicate early on in the search process the language of their web site/URL. |
